POSITION SUMMARY: Our US-based clientis seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join their dynamic finance team. This individual will oversee key accounting functions, including complex consolidations, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, transaction advisory services, or audit, with experience in acquisitions and integration of new entities. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership on strategic initiatives, ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational excellence.
ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.Manage multi-entity consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and reconciliations.Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.Oversee fixed assets, revenue recognition, and lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842 and other applicable standards.
ACQUISITIONS & TRANSACTION SUPPORT: Assist with financial due diligence for acquisitions, including quality of earnings analyses and integration planning.Oversee the onboarding and financial integration of acquired entities into the companys accounting systems and processes.Partner with leadership to develop financial forecasts and models for potential acquisitions.
AUDIT & COMPLIANCE: Lead the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during the annual financial audit process.Monitor and implement new accounting standards, ensuring timely compliance and reporting.Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure SOX compliance (if applicable).
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & LEADERSHIP: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members.Support ERP system enhancements and upgrades, including automation of complex accounting processes.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, audit, or transaction advisory services.Experience with consolidations, acquisitions, and complex accounting environments.Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or Oracle).Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools.Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and consolidations.Experience with multi-entity, multi-state operations and intercompany accounting.Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and leadership skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: CPA strongly preferredExperience with post-acquisition integrations and operational improvements.Background in the construction industry is a plus.Exposure to technical accounting topics, such as revenue recognition (ASC 606) or lease accounting (ASC 842).
