VFX Artist | Seedworld We are seeking an experienced VFX Artist to work on one of the biggest Metaverse projects ever Seedworld on Unreal 5.3.
As a VFX artist, you will deploy your excellent understanding of Unreal (Niagara & Blueprint) and usual artist software (Photoshop, Substance, 3D modeling package, etc.) to create and optimize particle systems, shaders, and other VFX that match with the Seedworld unique style.
Responsibilities: - Create visual effects art assets that balance performance, efficiency, and artistry to achieve optimal run time visual quality and game performance;
- Research, conceptualize, and derive quality visual effects from references to apply to various aspects of the game;
- Collaborate with the art director, game designers, and developers to ensure that VFX meets the game requirements while adhering to artistic standards;
- Share knowledge and best practices with teammates;
- Actively participate in technical and artistic discussions and problem-solving;
- Ability to summarize his work and documentation for internal & external communication.
Required Qualifications: - 4+ years of experience in similar roles with at least one AAA game shipped on PC or console;
- Prior experience creating 2D and 3D stylized visual effects;
- Experience working with Unreal game engine and Niagara;
- Knowledge of software like Maya/Blender/Houdini, Photoshop/Substance, Embergen, etc.
Desired Qualifications: - Good visual and technical understanding of FX shader;
- Good artistic eye to complement the technical knowledge and ease collaboration with the Art Director;
- Strong knowledge of all the 3D requirements before shader (UV, Texture) and full game pipelines;
- Experience with developing shaders/materials;
- Fast, organized, collaborative, and able to handle feedback;
- Strong organizational, and communication skills and a fluent level in English along with an understanding of production values, deadlines, and priorities.
Bonus Skills: - Knowledge of scripting (Python, HLSL, Blueprint) would be useful.
