About the Client
The client's team comprises of GIS analysts, remote sensing analysts, data scientists, environmental scientists, mine closure specialists and project coordinators. The team delivers reports, analyses, spatial data and derived products using data obtained in the field through advanced monitoring methodology, as well as using remotely sensed data, including multispectral digital imagery, stereography and LiDAR captured through to satellite, UAV, airborne platforms or ground based sensors. Our complex scientific workflows are automated using best-of-breed technology frameworks for efficiency gains, scientific rigour and repeatability.


What you'll do Carry out work to a high standard, in line with work timeframes and in accordance with company guidelines and management instructions.
Assist with the collection, analysis, management, and presentation of remotely sensed data, mapping products, and numerical data as part of the project team.
Assist with the execution of Astron processes, procedures, and products, particularly regarding the management, utilization, and analysis of remotely sensed data, mapping products, and numerical data.
Assist with the communication and presentation of remotely sensed data, mapping products, and numerical data for environmental and ecological purposes.
Present and communicate data to internal teams and external clients as required.
Liaise effectively with all Astron employees and participate in team meetings, project meetings, training sessions, workshops, and inductions.
Complete any other tasks as advised by the Manager that are within skills, competence, and/or training. What you bring Tertiary qualification in Spatial Sciences or Environmental Sciences with a significant spatial component.
Experience (or university training) in carrying out remote sensing and GIS studies, analyses, and research.
Demonstrated knowledge of spatial sciences and remote sensing data.
Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, and other GIS systems.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to engage in critical thinking.
Scientific writing skills.
Ability to work in and help foster a team environment.
Strong focus on health and safety.


Nominal Salary: To be agreed
