The Safety Officer 2 is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures. This role involves conducting inspections, providing training, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Safety Policy Implementation: Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies across all operational areas.Update and maintain safety procedures to align with current laws and industry standards. Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace to identify hazards.Prepare reports on findings and recommend corrective actions to management. Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize workplace hazards.Collaborate with departments to assess potential risks related to specific projects. Training and Development: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, including orientation for new hires.Ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.Document findings and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure all employees are familiar with procedures.Coordinate with local emergency services and ensure compliance with emergency response regulations. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and other local regulations.Prepare necessary documentation for safety audits and inspections. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and compliance audits.Prepare safety reports for management review and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and workers to promote a culture of safety and share best practices.Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns.
