Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist will assist the Payroll Head in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with payroll laws and regulations, and maintaining payroll-related records. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with knowledge of payroll software, financial reporting, and HR policies. The Finance Payroll Specialist will work closely with HR and other departments to support payroll operations and resolve employee payroll inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing: Assist in the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.

Data Verification: Review and verify employee attendance, work hours, and other relevant data to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations.

Compliance: Ensure payroll practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and contributions to government agencies.

Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, payroll deductions, and any adjustments made during payroll processing.

Financial Reporting: Support the Payroll Head in generating reports on payroll expenses, tax summaries, and other financial data as required.

Employee Support: Address employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related issues in a timely and professional manner.

System Updates: Assist in updating payroll systems with new employee information, salary adjustments, or policy changes to ensure the payroll system remains current and accurate.

Coordination with HR: Collaborate with the HR department for onboarding, offboarding, and any adjustments needed for payroll purposes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
At least 2 years of experience in payroll or finance roles, preferably in a corporate setting.
Strong knowledge of payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Familiarity with payroll regulations and labor laws.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information professionally.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position
Office-based, with occasional remote work possible
Regular working hours with occasional overtime as required for payroll deadlines
