Hi! We're Smartsourcing, looking for a Payroll Officer who can work with us full-time and on-site! 
Where??? Crown 7 Business Centre, Pope John Paul II Ave, Cebu City, Cebu As a Payroll Officer, you will work closely with the Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure the delivery of on time and accurate payroll for all employees of the business. The role will also support the Head of People & Culture to ensure all key projects and reporting are completed and are to a high standard. You will liaise with Employment Hero and Deputy as and when required to ensure all pay rates and codes are uploaded and maintained. Strong relationships with Information Technology are also pivotal to the success of this role, due to the integration and seamless requirements of each of the HR and operational systems. 
Some of the things we expect you to do are to:  Leave processing Workcover payments and Reconciliation as well as work cover Pre-Injury average Weekly earnings (PIAWE) calculations Processing of bonuses and ad hoc/out of cycle pays Processing redundancies and providing estimates as required Run the payroll process end to end on a weekly basis for two groups (casual and permanent) and fortnightly for management overhead staff, total of 340 at time of writing (Oct 2024) Expense claim processing Resolve and responding to payroll enquiries in a timely manner and customer centric manner Maintenance of the Time & Attendance system (Deputy) and Payroll system (Employment Hero/Keypay) to ensure any updates are made correctly and on time. Maintenance of internal documents and folders as required. Processing terminations Processing superannuation payments quarterly Processing child support payments in the corresponding pay run Support the process of, and at times, manage the annual WorkCover declarations. Timesheet review Management of time and attendance system (Deputy) including award updates, new employee creation and other tasks as needed. Maintenance of Deputy, such as checking agency rates and archiving inactive accounts Completing monthly reporting on Absenteeism, Labour Turnover and any other reporting as required by the Head of People & Culture Generating and executing employment contracts, ensuring on-boarding documentation is received and accurate and setting new employees up for success Supporting with key People & Culture projects as deemed necessary Running the annual remuneration review process together with the Head of People & Culture Basic understanding of awards and industrial instruments Remain educated and up to date with relevant legislation and updates affecting the payroll, i,e public holidays etc. Always seek to improve process and create efficiencies in all processes Maintain confidentiality at all times Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian taxation, superannuation, and industrial relations laws, as well as adherence to awards and enterprise agreements This role will work closely with the Finance department and report any payroll budgetary considerations to Finance as required Lead or actively participate in any payroll system migrations or updates, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions to payroll services Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with payroll operations, including legal, compliance, and operational risks, and work proactively to mitigate these risks STP lodgements after each pay has been processed Any other task as required by management  We would need you to be or have the following:  Advanced proficiency in payroll management systems (e.g., Xero, Employment Hero/Keypay, Deputy). Ability to troubleshoot, configure, and optimise payroll systems for efficiency. Familiarity with integrating payroll data with financial and HR systems. Strong problem-solving ability with a solutions-oriented mindset. Developed analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve payroll-related issues. Thorough knowledge of Australian tax law, superannuation regulations, and interpretation of awards/industrial agreements. Stay updated with payroll-related legislation and changes affecting compliance. Ability to effectively communicate payroll information to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills for working across departments. Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet strict payroll deadlines. High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all payroll processes. Experience in identifying and implementing payroll process improvements and automating tasks to increase efficiency. Proactive approach in optimising payroll systems. Ability to respond to payroll queries promptly and professionally. Commitment to maintaining high levels of employee satisfaction through accurate and timely payroll service. Strong ethical conduct with a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive employee data. Trustworthy and discreet in handling payroll and employee information.  Be a part of the Smartsourcing crew ??!  Smartsourcing was born with the purpose of changing people's lives.
