Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and support staff.
2. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that all team members are working efficiently and effectively.
3. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
4. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects.
5. Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Coordinate with other departments, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
7. Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and machinery.
8. Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
9. Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design through testing and commissioning.
10. Ensure that all mechanical designs and systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
11. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest level of design and system performance.
12. Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
13. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders on mechanical engineering projects.
14. Present design concepts, project plans, and progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
15. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with the project outcomes.
16. Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the mechanical engineering department.
17. Identify new business opportunities, potential clients, and areas for growth within the department.
18. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
19. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials.
20. Monitor project financials and report on budget performance to senior management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required
4. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
5. In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, design software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and construction practices.
6. Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
7. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders.
8. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
9. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including ASME, ISO, and OSHA guidelines.
