Position Summary This position will be responsible for the manufacturing strategy execution, collaborates with factory and design teams in performance improvement as well as new technology development. The prime objective is to ensure operations are aligned with the standard manufacturing approaches, adopted the Best In Company practices and applied the common and known good processes into the operation. Leading the process, equipment and automation standardization. Collaborate with the teams to perform study and benchmarking to define the best approaches for manufacturing to achieve better process capability window, cost effective and stay ahead of the competition. He/she will be developed into the subject experts in different technical/process areas to support the company growth and maintain the technology leadership. Also facilitate the expertise development in factories. Furthermore, as the owner of the Design For Manufacturing and design guidelines in New Product development.
Responsibilities Develop the manufacturing strategy and technology road mapIdentify new processes, materials, equipment and manufacturing systems which match the strategic product and process requirement.Leading the AME teams in performing market research and technical benchmarking among different options and come up the standard.Define the direction of technical studies for the teams, to carry out DOE and trials to prove the concept and ideas. Coordinate with factory or engineering teams in the qualifications.Work with factories on the process/machine standardization, Capital plan and executionIdentify opportunity for upgrade and replacement in factories.Working with factory teams in capital plan and ROI justification, ensure direction is aligned.Review the KPIs from the factories, drive the performance improvement.Align the manufacturing capability in factories and NPI challengesSupport the unresolved DFM and DFA issues in NPI, ensure on time & good quality.Set up regular (monthly) meetings with the factories Mfg Engg teams (SMT, ME, TE and Automation) in performance review and technical discussions.Consolidate the issues and opportunities in factories and drive for best practices for all sites.Update the design guidelines to capture all the latest requirements and process capability.Technical support on daily operation and customer request issuesProvide technical details and solution on specific process issues or quality improvement to factory.Assist NPI & Quality team in providing feedback to customer on technical enquiries.Leading the factory ME in performing technical analysis and arrange DOEs.Collaboration with other parties in special projectsMarket research in latest technology trend.Support MRO in new suppliers, new machines selection.Support Technical summits.Innovation and Advanced manufacturing technologyStay close to the market trend and available techniques for capability upgrade.Customize home grown or adopting outside solution to address the challenges in operation.Lead the Advanced projects, like "Industry 4.0", "Production Dashboard" and Automation.Skills Knowledgeable in electronic manufacturing assembly, engineering, NPI, DFM, industrial standards (IPC) and digital/IoT/Industry.Proven capacity for managing and leading people with experience scaling up an organization.Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems and determine root causes.Ability to develop a technical strategy and roadmap, develop and implement the tactical steps to drive the team to achieve the strategy.Ability to work in a fast-paced, global, matrixed environment.Detail oriented with excellent project management skills, organizational, data collection and presentation skills.Strong leadership skill and ability to drive changes.Strong communication skills and significant experience working with all levels of the organization.Must be enthusiastic, proactive, tenacious, professional, and empathetic.Qualifications Degree in engineering or equivalent; manufacturing systems, industrial, electronic and electrical is preferred, engineering discipline also applicable.Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering, with 5+ years supervisory experience managing an engineering team or relevant technical or materials team.Must have operated in a multinational environment, preferably having supported multiple business operations.Experience within a manufacturing environment would be highly desirable.
