Job Description This position provides a wide variety of legal services to management, senior, and counsel level attorneys. Works under supervision of senior and counsel level attorneys to develop organizational policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance, or regulatory affairs.
. Provide research, opinions, and advice concerning legal rights, remedies, and obligations of the company and its subsidiaries
. Prepare and review documents and assist in representing the company in negotiations, general corporate matters and litigation
. Draft correspondence, and assure communication and timely responses to and from outside attorneys, company staff, and insurance carriers
. Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents including contracts make suggestions for alterations of those documents
. Assist in negotiating with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes, including settlement conferences
. Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and develop strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk
. Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements . Accredited professional law degree based on country requirements and three (3) years of work-related experience a professional license, certification, or registration that may be required in order to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Preferred Qualifications . Experience working in either private practice or corporate or government environment
. Applicable license(s) and registration(s) in area of specialty or discipline
. Outstanding project management, organizational, and critical thinking skills
. Excellent communication and writing skills
. Highly organized, detail oriented, with strong ability to prioritize
. Demonstrated experience in a broad range of substantive legal and business areas
. Flexibility, versatility and ability to deal with multiple issues, priorities, and personnel is expected and required
. Capacity to collaborate with others and outstanding time-management abilities are essential.
. Demonstrated ability to work with and manage outside counsel and deal with internal clients at many different levels within an organization
