Job Description

The role in the Legal Department is to assist the attorney in preparing cases and filing claims.
The legal assistant may also assist in preparing cases for hearings and trials.
The legal assistant must have the ability to organize, analyze, communicate and administer.
Interpersonal skills are important for a collection legal assistant because they must be able to resolve conflicts, negotiate, and relate well with types of persons, often those who are in distress.
Qualifications And Requirements

Experience with e-filing documents in State court.
Experience preparing, editing and finalizing legal pleadings.
Proficient in MS Office and Adobe.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preliminary investigation
Obtain all documentation from a client concerning the account, including information about the debtor, invoices, promissory notes, payments and related correspondence
Investigate public records for information and about debtor's financial status, including real estate records and prior judgments
Draft demand letter to debtor
