This person will be responsible for the following:
Technical Support: Providing technical assistance and support to users within the organization.
This may include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving network problems,
file backup and recovery, and assisting with software upgrades.
Network Administration: Managing and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure,
including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment. This involves ensuring
network security, monitoring network performance, and implementing necessary upgrades.
System/Database Administration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, operating
systems, and computerized systems. This includes managing user accounts, setting up
permissions, and ensuring system/database and employee file backups are performed regularly.
Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the
organization's data and systems from cyber threats. This may involve configuring firewalls,
implementing antivirus software, conducting security audits, and educating users about security
best practices.
User Training and Education:
Providing training and education to users on effective use of IT systems and software. This may involve conducting training sessions, creating user documentation, and offering ongoing support.
I.T. Specialist / Administrator Mandatory Skills Requirements:
1. Knowledge of Servers: Proficiency in managing servers, including firewalls (pfSense), Network-Attached Storage (NAS), and SQL Servers
2. Network Administration: Understanding of network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting (LAN/WAN/VPN)
3. Operating Systems: Expertise in administering Windows and Linux operating systems
4. Database Management: Proficiency in database administration, including MySQL, SQL Server
5. Cybersecurity: Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices to protect systems and data
6. Hardware Maintenance: Skills in managing and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals
7. Backup and Recovery: Skills in implementing and managing data backup and recovery solutions
