Hr & Compliance Specialist For Arts&Drafts/21-25K/Annapolis

Responsibilities:Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of potential risk and non-compliance, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters, including anti-discrimination policies, workplace safety, and data protection.Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that compliance requirements are integrated into business processes and practices.Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations, and update policies and procedures accordingly.Investigate complaints or allegations of non-compliance, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities.Serve as a point of contact for external regulatory agencies and auditors, and facilitate compliance audits and inspections.Assist with HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations as needed.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, CCEP) preferred.Proven experience in HR and compliance roles, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., EEOC, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA).Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and assess compliance risks.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate compliance requirements to employees at all levels of the organization.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of professionalism and integrity.Experience developing and delivering compliance training programs preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.Familiarity with industry-specific compliance requirements (e.g., healthcare, finance, manufacturing) is a plus.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
