Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for the Head of the Engineering Department at Executive Optical. The role involves managing both existing stores and those soon to be opened. The Head of Engineering will oversee a variety of operational and strategic tasks related to store infrastructure, maintenance, and development.
Here are the key responsibilities for the role:
1. Maintenance & Facility Management for Existing Stores
Preventive Maintenance: Establish preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, and other critical infrastructure to ensure smooth operations across all stores.
Repair and Troubleshooting: Manage day-to-day repairs and emergency maintenance requests, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to store operations.
Vendor Management: Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance services.
2. Compliance and Safety
Health and Safety Standards: Ensure that all stores comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Fire and Safety Systems: Oversee the installation and maintenance of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency exits.
Energy Efficiency: Implement energy-saving practices and green building initiatives to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaboration with Operations: Work closely with store operations teams to understand the engineering needs that can enhance customer experience and store efficiency.
Stakeholder Communication: Report regularly to senior management on the progress of new store developments, facility conditions, and maintenance requirements.
4. Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in store design, construction techniques, and maintenance practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Technology Integration: Explore new technologies such as smart building systems, IoT devices for monitoring store conditions, and energy-efficient solutions.
5. Team Leadership and Management
Engineering Team Oversight: Lead and mentor the engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance, professional development, and effective allocation of resources.
Training and Development: Ensure staff are well-trained in the latest engineering practices, safety protocols, and maintenance techniques.
6. Cost Management & Reporting
Budget Monitoring: Track and manage capital expenditures for store development and maintenance, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on engineering projects, cost savings, and maintenance effectiveness to senior management.
Qualifications
Engineering Management and Project Management skills
Experience in Project Engineering and Civil Engineering
Knowledge of construction processes
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
Must be willing to be assigned in Timog Avenue, Quezon City
