Experienced Audit Associate

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly skilled Experienced Associate to join our auditing team. The Experienced Associate will be responsible for assisting in the planning and administration of audit tasks, drafting financial statements, preparing budgets, and conducting thorough financial audits. Ideal for an experienced accounting professional, this role does not require CPA certification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the audit team to plan and organize audit assignments
Prepare and draft accurate financial statements by regulatory requirements and accounting standards
Develop, review, and analyze budgets, providing insights and recommendations to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency
Execute thorough financial audits, examining records and transactions to verify accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards
Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements for a diverse client base
Cross-verify financial data from various sources to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and provide clear explanations of audit procedures
Stay updated on the latest accounting and auditing standards, regulations, and industry trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A CPA license is not required but would be advantageous
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in audit or a related field
Additional certifications or specialized training in auditing or accounting are a plus
Experience with Australian methodologies is beneficial
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Familiarity with accounting software, specifically Caseware, and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) required
Good knowledge of IFRS
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and auditing tasks
Strong analytical abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and effective communication, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and to be trained through apprenticeship is acceptable
