About The Role: The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and the implementation of effective internal controls. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors to maintain strict compliance with SEC and BIR regulations. In addition, he/she develops and maintains the company's accounting policies, establishing procedures that ensure accurate and timely reporting, and plays a key role in supervising and supporting the Accounting and Finance Team, guiding them in completing their accounting tasks and ensuring that all financial activities align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
Your Responsibilities: Financial Transactions Recording: Supervise the precise recording of all financial transactions, including revenues, purchases, expenses, and income, ensuring they are accurately entered into the general ledger. Ensure that all transactions are properly classified and coded according to the chart of accounts. Accounts Payable Management: Oversee the accounts payable process, including invoice verification, approval, and payment processing. Review vendor statements, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accurate records to ensure smooth payable processing. Manage vendor payment documents and handle all accounts payable-related correspondence. Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor the accounts receivable process to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers. Oversee collections activities to minimize overdue accounts and manage credit risks effectively. Bank Reconciliation: Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of cash balances. Investigate and promptly resolve any discrepancies or outstanding items. Fixed Assets Management: Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal. Conduct periodic physical inventory counts to verify the existence and condition of fixed assets. Tax Compliance: Ensure proper recording and accounting of taxes in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations during disbursement and revenue transactions. Coordinate with the company's Tax Manager and external tax advisors on tax-related issues. Provide accurate schedules for tax return preparation and ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with local and national tax regulations (e.g., Income Tax, VAT, Withholding taxes, Local Business Tax). Assist in handling BIR Examinations by preparing reconciliations, and documents, and meeting prescribed deadlines. Internal Controls and Audit Support: Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Assist external auditors during annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the bookkeeping function. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance the effectiveness of financial operations. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and motivate the Accounting Team, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and development. Communication and Collaboration: Assist in the preparation of the department's budget. Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and procurement, to ensure alignment and coordination of financial activities. What our Client is Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or any related fields. Must be a Certified Public Accountant 12 years of experience in general accounting (with minimum 3 years of managerial experience) Strong technical knowledge of local tax laws and regulations. Experience with financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
