Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the internal audit strategy and annual audit plan aligned with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
2. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the audit department, fostering a culture of integrity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
3. Report directly to the Audit Committee and senior management on audit activities, findings, and recommendations.
4. Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of internal audits to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Review and approve audit scopes, objectives, and methodologies to ensure comprehensive audit coverage.
6. Monitor the timely communication of audit results and facilitate the implementation of audit recommendations.
7. Assess the organization's risk management framework and provide insights and recommendations to mitigate risks effectively.
8. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
9. Collaborate with other departments to enhance risk management and compliance practices across the organization.
10. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of audit professionals, ensuring they possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to perform their roles effectively.
11. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support the professional development of audit team members.
12. Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's internal controls.
13. Recommend improvements to internal control processes to enhance operational efficiency and safeguard assets.
14.Act as the primary liaison between the audit department, senior management, the Audit Committee, and external auditors.
15. Communicate audit findings, risk assessments, and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
16. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to audit and risk management.
17. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and value-add to the organization.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or MS) preferred. CPA, CIA, or other relevant professional certification.
2. Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
3. Thorough understanding of audit principles, practices, methodologies, and standards.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
6. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools.
