JOB OVERVIEW As an AU intermediate accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining key accounting records. Day-to-day activities include recording transactions such as income and outgoings and posting them to various accounts. Having a broad and varied role, you will need a strong sense of time management and organisational skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Xero account coding & bank reconciliationPrepayments/Accruals/Fixed asset codingClient invoicingDebtor chasing of overdue invoicesSupplier invoicesTwice monthly supplier / expense payment runBAS / IAS / Payroll Tax returnsMonthly Payroll - adding new staff, bonuses, benefits, etcEnd of year payroll reportingEnd of tax year (30 June) reconciliations / returns for BAS / PAYEWorker Compensation estimates and actuals declarationsMonitoring of revenue, staff numbers, etc. as company is growing the statutory reporting and compliance requirementsManagement accounts pack from Xero each monthForecasting / cash flowTax return in liaison with external tax accountantPro-actively raise potential risks for clients and the business based on data and observations from checks performed and provide recommendations to mitigate impactsAny task deemed necessary by the Team Manager or Service Delivery Manager QUALIFICATIONS Education
Should be a graduate of Finance and or Accounting Certified Public Accountant (CPA) OR Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred Product Knowledge
Complete knowledge of client accounts and businesses General AU Accounting experience with solid background At least 2-4 years of experience in Australian accounting or taxation Knowledge with Australian Taxation and Compliance is preferred Knowledge with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Familiar with accounting tools such as Xero and MYOB Ability to learn new systems and tools as needed Ensures quality of work being delivered without being supervised Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skillsAble to work on multiple projects simultaneously Communications Skills
