Position Summary: The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as supervising accounting staff and improving accounting processes.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including reconciliation of accounts and correction of discrepancies.Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic planning and decision-making.Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.Team Management: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and tax laws, including the timely filing of tax returns and other regulatory reports.Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including payment processing, invoicing, and collections.Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis to support business decisions, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and financial trend analysis.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role.Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Abilities: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, lead and motivate a team, and resolve complex accounting issues.
