Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the company's financial operations. This includes managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to financial strategy and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience in property management accounting, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly reports for senior management
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and tax filings
Develop and implement internal accounting policies and procedures
Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals
Monitor and report on financial performance and profitability of managed properties
Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals
Collaborate with property managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial records
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property management
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar property management software)
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
