Video editing position with a very popular menswear channel on YouTube.
Opportunity Description: We're looking for an experienced video editor who will be responsible for editing and assembling recorded raw material into a suitable, finished product ready for broadcasting. The finished products include: how to videos, vlogs, and long form conversations focused on helping men wise up, suit up, and stand up. It is important that the team can provide feedback in context for these videos on platforms like frame.io. The target audience for this content is the MyNiceTie channel on YouTube. The ability to find a story within the raw video is very important. In addition, we need the editor to overlay sounds, music, b-roll, and graphics to enhance the clarity of the information and keep the viewer engaged.
Duties include splitting or combining video clips, adding appropriate sounds or graphics and watching the finished product to catch mistakes before submitting it for review. The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.
Responsibilities: Assembling raw footage and transferring or uploading to a computer
Following a script, screenplay, or outline
Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs
Inputting graphics to enhance footage
Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file
Improving and correcting lighting, coloring, and faulty footage
Work with our creative teammates
Regularly collaborate with the marketing team
Working closely with directors to present a final product that matches his or her vision
Follow the company's brand guidelines
Present to senior management
Requirements and qualifications: BA/BS or similar degree or equivalent experience
5 years of experience as a video specialist or similar role
Experience using video and editing equipment
Ability to see and tell a story with raw content
Creative thinker
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in common video editing software
