• Receiving and Unloading Shipments: Receive incoming shipments and verify them against purchase orders or delivery documentation. Unload goods from delivery trucks, inspect them for damages, and sort items for storage. Record items into the warehouse management system (WMS) or logbooks to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Inventory Management: Properly store inventory in designated areas, ensuring that items are organized, labeled, and easily accessible. Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts to ensure stock levels are accurate and avoid discrepancies. Assist in stock rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out) to ensure older products are used or shipped first, especially for time-sensitive goods. Assist with stock replenishment based on demand or inventory reports.
• Shipping and Dispatch: Verify outgoing shipments and ensure that all items are packed correctly, labeled, and ready for shipment. Work closely with the logistics team to arrange for transportation and ensure that deliveries are made on time. Assist with loading trucks or containers with outgoing shipments, ensuring that the cargo is properly secured.
• Quality Control: Inspect products for damage or defects during the receiving, picking, and packing process. Report any issues with products, packaging, or shipments and work with quality control or management to resolve problems. Ensure that all shipped goods are in good condition and comply with company quality standards.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements (receiving, picking, and shipping) using warehouse management systems or logbooks. Ensure that all relevant paperwork (packing slips, shipping labels, etc.) is correctly completed and filed. Help with maintaining inventory records for audits and compliance checks.
