Job Title: Waitress (for Overseas/Abroad - Palau)
Job Overview:
A Waitress in a bar and restaurant setting plays a vital role in providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and provide them with menus.
Assist guests in making menu selections and provide recommendations when requested.
Attend to customer inquiries, requests, and concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
Order Taking:
Take food and beverage orders accurately, ensuring attention to special requests and dietary restrictions.
Input orders into the POS (point-of-sale) system and communicate them promptly to the kitchen or bar staff.
Food and Beverage Service:
Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely manner, following proper serving etiquette.
Ensure accuracy and presentation of orders before serving them to customers.
Monitor tableware and replenish utensils, condiments, and other supplies as needed.
Upselling and Promotion:
Suggest additional items, specials, or promotions to guests to enhance their dining experience and increase sales.
Upsell premium menu items, appetizers, desserts, or beverages when appropriate.
Payment Processing:
Present bills to customers, process payments accurately, and return change or process credit card transactions.
Thank customers for their patronage and invite them to return.
Table Maintenance:
Clear tables of used dishes, glassware, and utensils promptly to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
Reset tables efficiently for incoming guests, ensuring proper placement of tableware and condiments.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate order delivery and ensure smooth service.
Assist colleagues during busy periods or as needed to maintain service standards.
Knowledge of Menu and Specials:
Stay informed about menu items, daily specials, and promotions to provide accurate information to guests.
Educate customers about ingredients, cooking methods, and beverage options as needed.
Adherence to Health and Safety Standards:
Follow hygiene and sanitation guidelines to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
Handle food and beverages with care to prevent contamination.
Customer Feedback:
Solicit feedback from guests regarding their dining experience and address any concerns or issues promptly.
Report feedback to management for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a waitress or in a customer service role, preferably in a bar or restaurant environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and payment processing.
