JOB DESCRIPTION The VP Data Management position is a highly collaborative position that will require you to have a demonstrable risk management knowledge, time management, and communication skills. The Human Resources Data Analytics Office is a centralized global team responsible for all aspects of data strategy, governance, data risk management, reporting and analytics for employees data. Our mission is to create employees insights that allow leaders to make evidence-based people decisions that help optimize measurable business outcomes.
As Vice President - Data Privacy and Data Management within HR Chief Data Analytics Office, you will manage risk associated with data use, data retention / destruction and data privacy. These decisions and outcomes are impacted by regulation and law across the JPMorgan Chase landscape.
The Team plays a key role in helping data users leverage worker data for projects across the firm. The team supports the Workforce Data Use Council, which assesses the proposed uses of worker data and implements firm-wide data use best practices.
Our team reviews and facilitates the decision-making of several hundred data uses cases each year. We surface the risks related to the use of employees data for requestors globally. We work with a broad spectrum of reviewers and requestors focusing on the risks and controls related to using employees data. We prioritize teamwork and working as a unit.
Within each data use case, you will be required to work with our stakeholders to identify legal, privacy, and reputational risks. We are looking for an individual that can work with the requesters and control partners to identify these risks, design control frameworks to mitigate those risks, and escalate issues to appropriate leadership within the firm.
Job Responsibilities: Global Team – identifies and manages global interdependencies across all regions and geographies. Work with internal customers from every line of business and corporate function – around the globe – to evaluate data use requests and identify any necessary business requirements, guardrails, conditions or controls. Prioritize data use requests against various deadlines, project go-live dates and risk assessments. Coordinate review with key stakeholders and decision-makers. Present data request overviews and risks to key stakeholders and senior management. Draft and update process documents related to the data use council review process. Required qualifications, skills and capabilities: Prior experience in data privacy and data protection concepts, global laws and regulations. Communications skills – must possess strong verbal and written communications skills, must be able to synthesize details and present summaries to executive-level audiences; must be comfortable with fast-paced environment. Interpersonal skills – strong professional presence with the ability to interact and influence colleagues at all levels in the business; able to collaborate in team environment with team members, business leads and control partners. Individual must have excellent problem-solving and time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and priorities; must be able to quickly and effectively respond to rapidly changing business needs; must be a proactive self-starter. Bachelor's degree in business or related field. 5 years of data governance or related experience, with proven success working with a variety of internal/external teams at various levels of management. Critical thinker, with proven ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders across corporate functions. Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities: Ability to work independently and develop creative ways to achieve goals. Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), metadata and other data management concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint.
