Job Description: Role Overview:
The Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the production area, assisting in daily operations, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment in a food manufacturing facility. This position supports production teams by performing various tasks as needed, such as cleaning, organizing, and assisting with minor equipment handling.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of production areas, equipment, and workspaces according to food safety and hygiene standards.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment and production lines.
Support the production team by organizing tools, supplies, and materials required for daily operations.
Dispose of waste and recyclables appropriately, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Perform general maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning spills in the facility.
Assist with loading and unloading materials and products as needed.
Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Provide support in basic tasks related to production as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures in a food production setting.
Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with varying tasks.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Good communication skills for reporting issues and following instructions.
Ability to work well in a team and support production goals.
Willingness to work shifts and perform tasks as required to support the production process.
