Harris Consulting Philippines (HCP) is currently seeking a Full-Time Assurance Manager! This is a remote position, but will require in-person training in Makati from time to time for new hire orientations. HCP operates during business hours in the local PH time zone. Flexibility is required for some team meetings during U.S. hours. The Assurance Manager is a dynamic role focusing on growth and quality of services. This role will work closely with company management to scale the Philippines office. He/she will be passionate and have an entrepreneurial spirit about the opportunity of scaling the accounting firm. Mentoring and developing staff will be key to success.
The Assurance Manager is expected to correctly perform routine engagement procedures in a timely and professional manner and will both prepare and review audits engagement. Individual must be able to meet assigned deadlines or budgets and provide advanced warning of variances. An Assurance Manager is familiar with audit standard concepts, practices, and procedures. He/she trains and encourages staff members not only on a day-to-day basis, but also for the long-term by serving as a mentor; this requires balancing assigned workload between self and staff. He/she must be able to provide forward-looking services that are creative and innovative.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Effectively supervise, train, and mentor seniors and staff. Ability to plan, execute, and report on audit, review, and compilation engagements. Clear understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, Governmental Auditing Standards, and other related technical requirements. Develop areas of technical expertise to become a resource to the firm. Manage and maintain multiple client relationships, engagements, and special projects. Present audit results to clients. Able to effectively answer client questions about GAAP or GAAS financial reporting matters. Ability to engage clients in discussions about the strategic and operational effectiveness of their organization. Manage and perform engagements on budget and on time. Effectively delegate to all levels of the assurance team staff and encourage team members to make determinations and take responsibility for their contribution to the audit team. Network and participate in business development activities for the firm. Prepare monthly client billings for the engagements in which you lead. Responsible for realization on assigned clients and can effectively explain variances. Work with Tax Department to coordinate the delivery of tax services to assurance clients. Effectively communicate with team members, and when required, with clients from the US in a clear and concise manner. Participate in weekly meetings with peers and leaders from the US to review assignments, feedback, and issues. Communicate outcomes to the HCP team and provide necessary education or retraining. Supervise workflow and assignments for staff to ensure maximum productivity. Regularly review performance and productivity reports, offering feedback to staff as needed. Provide quality assurance checks on work assignments, deliver feedback to the staff, and provide subsequent education or training as necessary. Evaluate forecasts against capacity to support scheduling and workflow balance. Offer coaching and guidance to team members, including conducting reviews. Additional responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent leadership and mentoring skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Proficient with technology: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Familiar with QuickBooks and other write-up software a plus. Familiar with CCH Axcess (full suite) and Engagement a plus. Proficient in a paperless environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Minimum Requirements Fluency in English. Experience with managing and mentoring staff. Ability to effectively communicate and develop strong relationships with clients, business partners, and co-workers. Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's degree preferred. CPA certification is required. US CPA certification is a plus. 5+ years of US public accounting experience. Must be highly motivated and experienced in managing multiple client engagements. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research, and project management skills. Proficient computer ability relative to administrative programs, spreadsheets, tax preparation software, trial balance software, time entry, word processing, and internet research.
