Summary:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the financial records and reporting. You
will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with
accounting regulations, and providing financial insights to the management team.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare statutory accounts for a variety of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
and standards.
• Prepare and review CT600, tax computations and corporation tax returns.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash
flow statements.
• Monthly bookkeeping and preparation of monthly commentary emails.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Manage and oversee the nominal ledger and perform month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions.
• When preparing accounts highlight any P11D, CIS and Dividends issues to the client manager.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial analysis, insights, and support for decision-making processes.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry
standards and regulations.
• Perform regular reviews to identify financial discrepancies and recommend improvements to
internal controls.
• Monitor and report on key financial metrics, highlighting trends and variances to management.
• Preparation of personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Review working papers and files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting
operations.
Qualifications:
• At least a bachelor's degree in accountancy or any accounting-related field
• With at least 5 years of relevant work experience is required for this position, including at least 3 years in UK Tax accounting
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software is a must
• Experience in Iris is highly ideal
• Excellent use of Microsoft 365 (including Excel)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Stable internet connection and a designated workspace separate from common areas for a remote set-up
• Willing to work on a UK shift (3:30 PM to 11:30 PM) from Monday to Friday
