Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role: The Training Head is the overall responsible for the development and execution of training and development strategies aimed at satisfying the learning needs of the agency and bancassurance force to excel in business performance and to achieve company objectives and goals. The position will also be responsible in managing training resources, operations, training programs and activities in a cost-effective manner. This will include management of training records of the sales force and reporting of progress and discrepancies to involved stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and implement strategic action plans to support business targets in agency and bancassurance productivity, persistency and leader development
• Lead the design of a development curriculum supportive of the training strategy
• Develop trainers and subject matter experts among the sales force
• Develop and deliver comprehensive in-house training programs
• Establish win-win relationship and programs with external training/ education service providers that will improve the knowledge base of the sales force
• Involve Sales Development and Sales representatives in advisory capacity to develop ongoing curriculum and training programs
• Develop strong relationships with the Sales force and various departments in the Company to identify development needs, design interventions and employ various methodologies that guarantee retention and practice of training
• Research for new knowledge, methodology and technology for enhancing training performance and effectiveness
• Analyze training records and statistics to evaluate training effectiveness and apply necessary improvement
• Provide outstanding service by going the extra mile and providing value-added services
2. Team Management
• Establish vision, mission, value, role, goals and objectives of the training academy, review and revise with reference to attainments and changes
• Ensure fit and proper staffing, appropriate assignments of roles and responsibilities, and development of talents within the training academy
• Guide staff in SMART target setting and action planning; conduct periodical reviews and revisions to ensure performance
• Direct, coach, and motivate staff of the academy in achieving objectives and long-term goals
• Monitor and control expenses closely within budget
• Conduct monthly department meeting, academy advisory meeting for assessing learning needs, training service performance, and program effectiveness
• Conduct annual training needs analysis to identify changes in learning needs
• Review and revise programs to address learning needs
• Gather and analyze class evaluations for improvements
• Monitor activities to conform with compliance requirements and standard of service
3. Company Image Building
• Networks with professional institutes and universities
• Promote the strengths of the training academy; Bid for awards and recognitions to reflect quality and performance of training management, training programs, trainers and learners
• Circulate reports of outstanding training performance based on training record analysis
• Provide support in the recruitment initiatives for sales through referrals and network building.
Essential Skills / Qualifications: University graduate is a must
With more than 10-year work experience
With at least 6 years' working experience in training management, preferably in insurance industry
Good knowledge of agency and bancassurance operations is required
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Excellent leadership and people management skills
