To ensure the normal operation of Molding production, under the guidance of the Molding Supervisor, carry out process troubleshooting and optimization, follow up on the production of important and difficult molds, and lead a group of technicians in improving and debugging mold tools.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.Lead a team of technical people in execution of daily production tasks relating to set-up and optimization, maintenance, and continuous improvement.Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer or product issues or to initiate continuous improvement.Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair, and maintenance.Ensure cleanliness and maintain a safe work environment within the molding area.Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.Coordinate with outside vendors regarding maintenance and repair for equipment if needed.Implement or manage implementation of all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all injection molding equipment.Lead, plan, and review the work of subordinates responsible for performing skilled duties to maintain equipment in good working condition in support of the production operation.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to injection process technicians, operators, and other molding personnel.Supervise the use, care, and operation of machines and equipment including hand tools and motorized equipment.Provide immediate support for production in case of equipment downtime.Verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.Ensure machines and equipment are optimized for improved and uninterrupted operation.Ensure the proper execution of AM and provide technical support when needed.Other Essential Responsibilities and Duties:Identify and capture opportunities for improvement.Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities, and improve part quality.Use Lean Six Sigma and CIM concepts to optimize work processes, adapt process engineering tools and procedures to improve equipment utilization and performance.Keep current with the latest equipment, technologies, and methods as needed and required.Train assigned employees in their areas of work including setup, troubleshooting, optimization, repair methods, procedures, and techniques.Support the Molding Supervisor in planning for resources and correcting existing discrepancies.Participate in audits and compliance assessments, and follow up on closure of remedial action plans.Actively participate in designing tools and devices if necessary.Report to immediate superior all issues relating to the scope of work or jurisdiction.Job Overview:TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding, or assembly-related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping/molding/assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs), and advise plants on tool and machine duplications/corrections/improvements. They design and develop manufacturing processes and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements, and manufacturing location. They act as an interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp-up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples, and prototypes.
