Job Description OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Superintendent – Financial Accounting (Tax) who has strong and proven experience in all aspects of the tax function, including but not limited to:
Management and coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting to the BIR.Management and coordination of tax information required to support current and future tax audits conducted by the MGB and BIR.Preparation of tax related internal financial and Board reports for OGPI, and, where applicable, OGC.Promote awareness and conduct training for internal stakeholders and management on the tax regime in the Philippines and OGPI's obligations.Identify and implement opportunities to streamline information storage and reporting in compliance with regulations.Duties and key responsibilities Taxation Management : Provide strategic review and advice regarding the Didipio operation outstanding and ongoing tax and government policy changes in order to mitigate impacts associated with changes.Financial Accounting: Complete position papers and taxation memorandums supporting internal OGC and external reporting requirements.Budgeting and Forecasting : Ensure tax models supporting Forecast, Budget and LOMP are robust and submitted in accordance with Forecast, Budget and LOMP reporting timeframes Qualifications Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold WayMust be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)With 10+ years experience in tax advisory or in-house tax roleWith demonstrated experience in distilling complex tax related matters into succinct summaries for management comprehension, such as executive summary and position paper memorandums / recommendations.Has the ability to form recommended positions as it relates to complex tax matters requiring subject matter expertise to form a go-forward decision.Abreast on relevant tax technical theory & local and international business practices and legislative environments, including deep technical expertise in the current Philippines tax laws and regulationsHas the ability to lead, coach and support the tax team on preparation of technical accounting tax papers and on tax related topical accounting issues and control weaknesses.
