**Subcontracts Service Buyer I**

**Summary of Role**:
This position operates within the NovaSource Subcontracts Management Team and is an essential component to the company's day-to-day operations and overall success.
The team oversees service spend relating to the following commodity types; vegetation management, module cleaning, electrical, HVAC, snow plowing, indirect purchasing, and temp labor.
The Service Buyer I will work side by side with Service Buyer II and the Subcontracts Manager to conduct tasks and process flows associated with subcontractor utilization throughout the NovaSource O&M fleet.
The Service Buyer I position reports to the Subcontracts Manager.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Execute all subcontractor service purchasing for assigned commodity types and manage all NSPS ERP compliance related tasks associated
- Issue Purchase Orders for all service-related requests for the assigned commodity types
- Collaborate with the Subcontracts Manager to create and execute service-related Task Orders for applicable subcontractors
- Develop and demonstrate a deep understanding of all assigned service types and associated subcontractors
- Utilize service type specialization to source new subcontractors for related services to accommodate the needs of the business unit
- Maintain an accurate record of subcontractor documentation and proactively request documentation to keep subcontractors in compliance with NSPS requirements
- Monitor the NSPS Vendor Management Tool and ensure the tool is kept up to date with the most recent subcontractor related information and documentation
- Track subcontractor spend for assigned commodity types and collaborate with Service Buyer II to create monthly reports summarizing NovaSource's spend by service type
- Collaborate with the NovaSource Accounts Payable Team to mitigate any subcontractor invoicing or purchase order escalations
- Conduct annual RFPs for designated commodity types and assist the Subcontracts Manager with prescheduling efforts, bid awarding and subcontractor outreach
- Executing the NovaSource sourcing and procurement strategies, tools and processes in a standardized way.
- Implement Lean Methodologies to identify and eliminate all "waste" and ensure that the team is operating in the most efficient way possible.
- Ensures that all procurement requests handled by the team follow the NovaSource purchasing guidelines and that the ERP system is updated as needed.
- Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal and environmental issues.
- Resolves discrepancies (Deliveries, Pricing, System Transactions) and escalates issues to the appropriate Buyer/Commodity Manager as needed.
- Ensures all KPI's are met and reported on a weekly/monthly basis (see details of KPI's below).

**Role Responsibilities & KPIs**
- Zero safety issues or Safety Recordables.
- Monthly reporting for assigned service types by the 1st of each month
- Subcontractor Enrollment Requests initiated within 24 hours
- Subcontractor Prequalification Requests completed within 4 business days
- PO Creation within 24 hours
- Task Order execution within 48 hours
- PO accuracy at 100%
- Bulk RFPs issued prior to November 1st annually
- Vendor fulfillment accuracy at 100%
**Minimum requirements**
- >1 years-experience as a Buyer/Commodity manager - preferably in the Solar/Power Plant/Utilities or Energy sector.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing strategies and techniques.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of strategic and operational vendor management processes & concepts.
- Ability to prioritize tasks consistent with achieving overall supply management organizational goals.
- Implement sourcing decisions based on company guidelines and policies.
- Understands and demonstrates project management skills.
- Frequently interacts with functional peers and function peer group managers.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in use of ERP/Purchasing System
**Preferred requirements**
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or a related technical, engineering or business field.
- Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.
- SharePoint and Salesforce experience is a plus.
