About the role This role is extremely important to the company as they are embedded in our monthly statement process. Each month, they will run reports for unapplied payments, apply those payments and prepare patient statements. The statement coordinator needs to be very diligent in handling statements in a detail oriented way. What you'll do Statement Preparation and Accuracy : Ensure that patient statements are prepared accurately, reflecting all services provided, payments received, and adjustments made, minimizing errors to prevent billing disputes. Compliance and Regulations : Stay updated with healthcare billing regulations and compliance standards, ensuring all statements adhere to legal requirements and company policies. Patient Inquiries and Support : Handle patient inquiries regarding their statements, providing clear explanations and resolving any issues or discrepancies to maintain patient satisfaction and trust. Coordination with Insurance Providers : Collaborate with insurance companies to verify patient coverage, process claims, and resolve any discrepancies between billed amounts and reimbursed amounts. Financial Reporting : Generate and analyze financial reports related to billing and statements, providing insights and recommendations to management for improving billing processes and financial performance. Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements in statement preparation and billing workflows, utilizing technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications 1-3 years of medical billing experience is required. Understanding of charge entry, payment processing and collections processes. The ability to work in multiple EHR and PM systems, sometimes simultaneously. Quick ability to pick up multiple systems. Extremely detail oriented. Ability to spot discrepancies in payment reports.
