Job Summary
Assessing, Planning, Developing, Implementing, evaluating and lastly plan for individualized Treatment Plan for the well-being of the residents.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prioritizing health problems and intervening appropriately in order to assist patient in emergency, complex and urgent situations including commencement of valuable emergency care.
2. Consulting, providing advice and information about various health conditions or any minor ailments, referring them to other staff or to the On-call-Doctor.
3. Performing routine procedures like monitoring of vital signs, wound care, applying and removing dressings, nebulization, removal of suture, catheterization with accordance to Doctors order, suctioning, nasogastric tube insertion and feeding, tracheal care, administering vaccine, blood sugar monitoring, and insulin injection.
4. Check the output of the caregiver.
5. Carry out medical instruction and prescription of visiting doctors intended for the residents.
6. Making and sterilizing of the equipment for wound care such as gauze, cotton balls, Kelly forceps, Kelly clamps, suture scissors and gloves.
7. Regularly updating the vital signs, medication and nurses notes of the resident's chart.
8. Preparing and administering of the medicines with strict compliance of the SOP.
9. Monitoring and inventory of medicine supply timely.
10. Inform, promptly and clearly other department regarding all necessary information needed to communicate to them e.g. diet of patient to Dietary Department.
11. Checking and assuring that all the requirements during admission are complete and valid. Secure the completed DNR form of the residents duly signed by the relatives.
12. Coordinate with the relatives all the concerns regarding patient's health condition especially during emergency.
13. Giving instruction to ward attendants and PCG regarding residents' precaution and limitationor with regard to laboratory procedures, if there is NPO order. The nurse to inform the relatives.
14. Evaluation of patients every end of the month.
15. Conduct regular physical examination such as weighing and report it directly to the head nurse/ chief nurse or to the On-Call- Doctor. If necessary.
16. Giving health advices to the working environment by complying with SOP, rules and regulation and Clean-as-you- go policy.
17. Monitor status of equipment's used in Nursing Department such as suction machine, oxygen tank and regulators, nebulizer, etc. Defective tools or instruments should be reported immediately to the Head nurse/ Chief Nurse and coordinate the same with the maintenance department.
