**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
- Visits the specific clinical location on a frequent basis to ensure that patients with a certain infection receive appropriate isolation precaution recommendations (MRSA, etc.).
- Keeping track of each case's files.
- Investigates the kind of infection and the infecting organism/s to identify and monitor healthcare-associated infections.
- Assist with outbreak investigations and ad hoc projects as directed by the Medical Director.
- Ensure that all employees are informed on infection control practices and are up to speed on them.
- Organizes a unique infection control and prevention training session for the personnel and even a specific group of patients.
- Oversee public health initiatives such as data analysis, healthcare planning, surveillance systems, and public health enhancement, which includes efficient waste disposal.
- Participates in the clinical governance meeting to keep his or her knowledge up to date.
- Using the Philippine Integrated Disease Surveillance Response System, detects and reports communicable diseases as required by the Department of Health (PIDSR).
- Taking part in research activities.
- Coordinates with the Administrator and the Medical Director on a regular basis on all major issues in the hospital that are related to infection control.
- Reports to the Medical Director on a monthly basis and assists in identifying critical infection control issues so that appropriate strategies and measures can be taken.
- Ensures that hospital laws and procedures are followed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as allocated by the Medical Director.
