About Arup Sir Ove Arup, the founder of our company, was known as 'the philosopher engineer'. He did not settle for conventions. His mission was to find inventive solutions, produce work of the highest quality, and shape a better and more sustainable world. His ethos of 'Total Architecture', implying work of quality can only be achieved when all design decisions have been considered, set the foundation for Arup to grow into the leading multi-disciplinary global engineering, design, and consultancy firm it is today.
Arup is an independent, employee-owned firm of designers, engineers, consultants, and specialists operating in 35 countries worldwide. Working across disciplines and drawing on diverse voices is an essential part of who we are. The projects we work on push expectations of what is possible and focus on producing highly sustainable, safe, inclusive, resilient buildings, infrastructure, and cities.
