Instructional Design : Responsible for seeking out performance gaps that can be addressed by learning interventions. Takes the lead in designing and developing learning solutions that equip XPs with skills to power possibilities through transformative delegation. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the instructional design team by staying up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the industry. The Instructional Design Specialist should be proactive in researching and implementing new instructional design methodologies, tools, and techniques to enhance the quality and effectiveness of learning materials and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
LMS Administration: Ensure that the LMS adheres to a high standard of user experience. Make Athena a trailblazer by turning learning technology into a way of life and not simply a compliance tool.
People Management: Responsible for managing a team of Instructional Designers, seeking performance gaps that can be addressed by regular coaching and mentoring. Approaches directly and provides feedback with care and compassion.
Responsibilities: Solution Architecture: Design, describe, and manage solutions in relation to specific business problems that require learning interventions. Lead Discovery Calls to uncover business problems.
Project Management: Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan for high-impact projects at Athena. Maximize team effectiveness by coordinating cross-functional teams and delegating tasks and timelines best suited to complete them. Lead and manage instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet the organization's quality standards.
Analysis: Conduct thorough TNAs to determine what type of learning intervention is required when faced with organizational issues.
Design: Create a design document based on TNA findings. Designs must follow adult learning principles
Development: Create learning materials as described in design documents. Develop materials in line with Athena branding using the latest trends in learning technology
Implementation: Conduct train-the-trainer sessions, facilitate learning sessions as needed, and serve as administrator of the LMS once self-paced courses and simulations have been deployed
Evaluation : Use Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation in measuring the effectiveness of learning interventions implemented. Design and implement evaluation and assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning programs on the organization's performance. The Instructional Design Specialist should be proficient in selecting and utilizing various evaluation methods and tools, such as surveys, focus groups, and data analysis, to gather feedback and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve learning solutions.
People Management: Conduct weekly coaching sessions with assigned instructional designers, document discussion and talking points on Small Improvements and Asana, complete quarterly performance reviews, create individual development plans, and performance improvement plans, and facilitate the discussion of those reviews and plans.
