Description Required Qualifications Master's degree in library science or equivalent from an accredited program. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a special collections librarian or similar position (Assistant Rank: 2 years of experience; Associate Rank: 4 or more years of experience). Demonstrated proficiency in archival principles, practices, and preservation. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated scholarly contribution, knowledge, and service. Proficiency in relevant cataloging and metadata standards, such as MARC, DACS, DublinCore, METS, and/or MODS Experience with digital initiatives and digitization projects. Experience in fundraising and grant writing. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of professional initiatives and flexibility required for successful teamwork in an academic or special library environment. Knowledge and ability to use technology in distance learning and university teaching. Knowledge of best practices of ensuring representation, a sense of belonging, and removing barriers in library services and collections for all members of the communities we serve. Ability to collaborate both within and outside the university to develop key partnerships. Ability to work effectively with and provide library services to a varied academic community. Ability to engage in continued scholarship, and service to the university, community, and librarianship. Strong interpersonal, communication, and outreach skills.
