Slitter Operator

1. Sets up, operates and maintains Slitting machines in everyday use.
2. Check the quality of the slitted coils, and ensure they meet production standards (width, length, thickness, ect).
3. Monitors quality of unslitted coils and reports to assistant supervisor if item is defective.
4. Signals Crane Operator to lift coil to play-out reel or place roll on reel, using overhead crane.
5. Secures strips on recoiler, adjusts guides roller tension with hand crank, and starts machine.
6. Observes slitting and rewinding operation,examines cut strips for flatness edges, and surface defects.
7. Performs die repair such as changing roll form sections.
8. Double checks rolls before and after the process of change of blade.
9. Report to the assistant supervisor if the slitting machine is in need of repair or maintenance.
