**The role**

Your mission is to promote, create and maintain compliance to SHEQ programs to protect and preserve the environment, and safeguard the health and safety of the employees.
**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the company's Safety, Health and Safety Policy is implemented consistently across the organization and remains up to date;
- Monitor, evaluate, and review Safety and Health policy and practice (Group policies and local legislation);
- Appointed as Company Safety Officer in line with the requirement of the Department of Labor and Employment;
- Assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required;
- Advise the Top Management on the implications of current and emerging issues on safety and health, including evaluation options, making recommendations, and generating actions plans to ensure compliance across the organization;
- Support managers to maintain safe systems, provide specialist advise, coaching and practical support;
- Assist managers implement health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health in a consistent and effective manner;
- Ensure the organization and its clients comply with the Safety, Health systems and supervise the Safety and Health team;
- Carry out audits to evaluate effectiveness of Safety and Health systems and procedures, and identify and implement improvements;
- Ensure routine health and safety activities and checks are carried out e.g.
testing of office equipment and electrical equipment and the review of risk assessments;
- Investigate or where appropriate, assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence.
Take action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks;
- Oversee the preparation, maintenance and distribution of Safety and Health files;
- Management on the risk assessments and where necessary relevant control measures;
- Prepare regular reports on compliance and activity for presentation to Top management;
- Establish and maintains all relevant safety records and files i.e.
man hours, Incident/Accident records in the Incident/Accident database in Lotus Notes, Incident rate and all other figures and records relevant to Safety and Health matters.
- Oversees all safety related activities which include presiding over meetings with the working committee for health and safety;
- Act in advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to occupational health and safety for the guidance of the employer and its employees;
- Ensure monitoring and update of the Safety Board;
- Checks, enhances and promotes health and safety awareness program;
- Conducts investigation of accidents, prepares and submits relevant report(s) and analysis of such for submission to the Management; Ensure logging of accidents in the Incident/Accident Database;
- Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation and compliance with health and safety legislation requirements of the company;
- Coordinates all health and safety trainings, re-training and orientation programs of employees and contractors as may be required from time to time;
- Monitors and maintains all safety equipment of the company to include coordination of operation on readiness of safety systems and equipment;
- Support accreditation requirements of customers related to SHEQ
- Review documents submitted by the supplier for accreditation
- Ensure each Division/Business Area will have representatives who will receive the information/training with respect to;
- Fire and Earthquake Safety
- Chemical Safety
- First Aid Training
- Basic Life Support Training
