As a Lead Web Developer / Senior Web Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining websites and web applications. You are also responsible for creating the visual layout, user interface, and functionality of the website or web application to drive sales and revenue.
Responsibilities:
WordPress and WooCommerce Development and Maintenance:
· Design and implement visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly website templates from scratch.
· Build and customise WooCommerce plugins and extensions to enhance e-commerce functionality.
· Customise and extend WordPress and WooCommerce themes and plugins to align with project requirements.
· Regularly test and enhance website design, keeping it visually appealing and up to date with the latest web design trends.
· Proactively address design and technical issues, proposing improvements or alternatives to enhance visual appeal and usability.
Front-end Development:
· Create responsive and visually appealing front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Ensure a consistent user experience across different devices and browsers.
· Collaborate with design teams to transform design concepts into interactive and engaging user interfaces.
Back-end Development:
· Develop and maintain server-side functionalities using PHP and other relevant technologies.
· Optimise database queries and performance to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and other developers, to ensure project success.
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers when necessary.
· Communicate effectively with clients to understand and meet their specific requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on WordPress and WooCommerce.
5+ years of experience with WordPress and WooCommerce & the ability to work independently as a WordPress/WooCommerce Designer
Proficiency in web design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and the ability to create designs that work well on all screen sizes.
5+ years of experience with programming skills and knowledge of design tools.
Ability to lead the design process, offering professional suggestions and improvements.
3+ years of experience managing a development team.
Ideal Qualifications:
Familiarity with common UI/UX design challenges in WordPress
Substantial experience in PHP with the ability to make frontend components work.
Behavioural Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a remote team and with designers and content creators.
Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
Works well under pressure, sometimes to very tight deadlines
