Our client manages a robust portfolio and is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to play a critical role in ensuring the compliance, accuracy, and optimization of our tax processes within the US regulatory framework.
Job Summary:
The Tax Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the firm's tax compliance and reporting functions related to its US-based private equity and venture capital investments. This role requires an in-depth understanding of US tax laws as they apply to private equity and venture capital investments, including partnership taxation, carried interest, and other relevant tax regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing complex tax matters, coordinating with external advisors, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to support the firm's tax strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for the firm's portfolio companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. Quarterly and Annual Tax Provisioning: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions, including analysis and reconciliation of tax accounts. Investment Structuring: Provide tax analysis and support in structuring new investments, acquisitions, and divestitures, focusing on tax-efficient outcomes. Partnership Taxation and Carried Interest: Manage tax aspects specific to partnership entities, including the application of carried interest regulations and income allocation. Research and Planning: Conduct tax research and provide guidance on US tax regulations affecting the private equity and venture capital sectors. Coordination with Advisors: Work closely with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants to ensure compliance and leverage expertise on complex tax matters. Documentation and Process Improvement: Maintain comprehensive documentation of tax-related processes and develop strategies for improving compliance and reporting efficiencies. Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. Experience: 5+ years of experience in tax with a focus on US tax. Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US partnership taxation, private equity and venture capital tax structures, carried interest, and other relevant tax regulations. Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach to tax compliance and planning. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively across teams. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tax compliance and accounting software; proficiency in Excel is essential. Benefits:
