Location / Shift Ortigas Office, Morning Shift

NOTE: You must be willing to work in the office in the above office location to apply for this position. Job Description As the Senior Structural Engineer, you are responsible for preparing high-quality engineering concept plans, detailed design plans, and management of documentation for Structural Engineering projects. The designs achieved shall be to the prescribed standards, conditions and quality assurance procedures and meet allocated/agreed timeframes. You will also give technical support to Structural Engineers, Graduate Engineers, Draftspersons and internal department.

The Senior Structural Engineer has the authority to carry out tasks in accordance with the responsibilities detailed within this Position Description and as per the direction of the Structural Associate. You will monitor the projects' delivery, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities: Customer Focus Provide professional advice to clients and internal colleagues within appropriate timeframes. Establish ongoing rapport and good working relationships with clients, internal colleagues and sub-consultants. Demonstrate a high level of communication and negotiation skills. Deal effectively with changes and unexpected problems and issues. Foster and directly manage relationships. Be a conduit for communication with clients and ensure immediate resolution of any concerns. Provide realistic timeframes. Ensure any non-compliance is clearly documented and justified. Ensure that the Engineering Manager is made aware of what the development requires to comply with the relevant legislation and conditions of development. Operations Prepare high-quality detailed design for allocated Structural Engineering projects in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant standards. Undertake E-tabs modelling for concrete framed lateral stability FEA in accordance with the design guide. Be a critical part of design teams. Critically review detailed designs, drawings. Provide technical advice and informal training to staff within the department. Provide support to other staff during the completion of projects. Delegate appropriately by assigning appropriate responsibilities and authority. Maintain regular and timely communication with the Project Leader on issues or activities likely to influence the project, team or organisation. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations. Efficiently manage drafting outputs. Develop a cohesive project team by establishing positive workplace relations and manage any disputes through resolution. Offer constructive advice and training to junior staff and colleagues. Positive mentoring of junior staff. Internal systems, procedures, practice support delivery of high-quality projects and drafting/design standards are continuously improved: Develop work practices and procedures, including quality manual. Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering, in Civil/Structural, qualifications must be recognized by Engineers Australia (EA). Minimum 3-5 years Australian experience in design and documentation of Building Structural Engineering projects. Advanced knowledge of: E-tabs, Ram-Concept, SpaceGass FEA Software. Strong English communication skills. Demonstrated experience in the detailed design of relevant projects including (desirable): Lateral stability analysis of concrete framed high-rise buildings. Portal frame Structural Steel buildings. Reinforced Concrete. Post-tensioned concrete structure. Analysis of detailed connections for steel and concrete structures.
