ABOUT THE TEAM Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) acts as a financial advisor and business partner to actively support the decision-making process in the organization. The department analyzes complex firm-wide data and develops narratives and visuals to support the "storytelling" and the decision-making process. The team works closely with the business to understand key drivers of financial performance and steer the results.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE As a Senior Analyst reporting to the Director FP&A, you will:
Analyze business groups and asset classes' monthly/quarterly results and document variances, trends compared to projections and previous periods' results. Build financial analysis presentation to provide quarterly updates to the different groups highlighting main trends and telling the story behind the numbers. Support senior management with in-depth analysis of investment related information as required. Manage the annual budget and multi-year projection for the groups, in collaboration with various stakeholders in the organization. Collaborate to the enhancement of our financial projection models, by identifying and leveraging drivers between groups and cost types, as well as investment strategies. Participate in peer benchmarking activities and present findings to internal stakeholders. Participate actively in ongoing projects such as building profitability views by groups, analysis and planning automation, and development of relevant business metrics. Improve the financial planning tool and recommend optimization to improve operations efficiency and data quality. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Bachelor's degree in Business Administration a must, and Accounting designation. Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in a large organization, preferably in the financial industry and/or in asset management. Ability to work in a team and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the company. Expertise in financial modeling and data analytics and ability to navigate through complex set of information. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate financial concepts into business stories. Expertise in Microsoft applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and IBM Planning Analytics, a strong asset. Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa).
