Senior Accountant - Us Based (Part-Time)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.

Job Responsibilities:
? Prepare and analyze financial statements.
? Ensure accuracy, adherence to accounting principles, and compliance with AU regulatory requirements/GAAP
? Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial activities, reconciliations, and adjustments.
? Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
? Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets, investigate variances, and provide explanations and recommendations.
? Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other applicable AU regulatory requirements.
? Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and supporting schedules. Address audit queries and recommendations for process improvements.
? Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes. Implement changes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations.
? Performs other duties as may be assigned
Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree in Accountancy and a Certified Public Accountant
? Proven track record with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in AU accounting and tax reporting
? In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and AU regulatory requirements.
? Experience in top 5 audit or accounting firms, and business process outsourcing industry is an advantage
? Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, APS, Handisoft or equivalent Australian tax compliance software, and MS Excel
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
? Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
