Responsible for the following
The Senior Accountant 2 will be responsible for bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll processing, tax preparation, and client communication. This role requires a meticulous and organized professional with extensive experience in accounting and proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other financial software.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping for clients' QuickBooks Online (QBO) files or other requested software. Perform month-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss (P&L) review, and analysis. Ensure accuracy of financial statements and address any discrepancies. Convert owner payroll amounts to distributions and coordinate with CPA and Payroll Manager for monthly or quarterly payroll processing. Track W9s for clients and prepare 1099s at year-end. Manage fixed asset jobs, attach backup documentation, and coordinate with the Tax Manager for tax planning and return preparation. Prepare workbooks and reports for monthly client meetings. Follow up on action items after client meetings or calls. Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams (Payroll, Tax, Operations) to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution. Conduct year-end close preparation, including reviewing fixed assets, member distributions, and collecting missing documentation. Ensure timely year-end close of financials for tax preparation, with a target completion date of February 15th annually. Track all jobs and work in ABP systems. Roll jobs forward in the workflow system annually and update job notes and tasks as needed. What you bring to the job?
Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience Comfortable in working with US-based client Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and external program integrations (POS, work order systems). Proficient in using import tools such as Excel, Transaction Pro Importer, and HubDoc for data import and management. Understanding of various business models and transaction flows, including retail, contractors, and professional services (e.g., medical, legal). Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation, month/year-end close processes, and equity accounting with the ability to conduct detailed P&L reviews and analyses to ensure accuracy. Knowledge of payroll entries, federal taxes, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLookups). Ability to work remotely Good tenure with previous companies (stays with companies for at least a year) Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
