Under the direction of the Academic Manager and working closely with the Encoder, the Academic Scheduler oversees the planning, development, and maintenance of the academic course schedule with particular attention to maximization and utilization of academic resources. The Academic Scheduler ensures that the course schedule is built according to establish business rules and data entry standards, and contributes to these standards and business rules when changes are warranted. The position requires high attention to detail, as well as significant skill in using technology and understanding of curricular requirements.
 
OBJECTIVES
 
The main tasks of the Academic Scheduler are:
Develop master schedule and continuously process, update, correct the schedule
Register incoming students and create schedules
Audit room reservations to accommodate all students
DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates campus-wide academic course scheduling with academic departments and international managers
Oversees the data management of the academic course schedule in the Information System and soft copies
Reviews and monitors course schedules
to ensure compliance with academic scheduling standards, processes, and policiesManages the academic scheduling request for students on a day-to-day basis
Provides support for the academic leaders handling schedules from IELTS, TOEIC, Cambridge, etc.
Creates course records in the Information System
Develops data reports regarding academic scheduling that assist critical decision making especially with class changes and their reasons
Troubleshoots problems and conflicts that arise in the assignment of classroom space
Coordinate with management to standardize campus space audit
Develop and maintain Academic Scheduling Handbook
Remains current on best practices regarding academic scheduling
Coordinate with Encoder and Examiner
Actively participates in activities relating to student events such as commencement
Other duties as assigned

Ability to adapt effectively and quickly to changing policies and requirements
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with faculty, staff, and students
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
College degree or equivalent experience required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Experience with student information systems is desirable
Experience in project management
