Sales Manager responsible for managing the sales efforts of pharmaceutical companies.They work with a team of medical sales representatives and clinical trainor's to develop andimplement strategies that help our company sell our products to doctors, hospitals,pharmacies, and other healthcare providers.Sales Manager must be able to effectively manage large teams of people while also beingdetail-oriented enough to understand the intricacies of pharmaceuticals and how they're usedin the medical field.Sales Manager work in a variety of settings, including pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, andclinics and reports to office, work full time and may occasionally work overtime to meet deadlines orquotas. May have to travel frequently to meet with clients and attend conferences.Sales Manager Job ResponsibilitiesA Sales Manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:? Monitoring competitor activities in the industry by reading industry publications andattending industry events to stay up to date on trends in the industry while adjustingsales strategies accordingly? Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify business opportunities? Reporting to executive management on the performance of the sales team? Working with Marketing Manager to develop targeted advertising campaigns to reachpotential customers? Reviewing sales data to identify opportunities for improvement in sales forceperformance? Defining and executing territory sales plans? Planning and directing the hiring and training of new Sales Representatives? Conducting training sessions for new hires to ensure that all employees have adequateknowledge about company products or services? Directing and coordinating all sales activities locally and regionally? Serving as the face of the organization to internal and external partners? Developing relationships with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other medicalprofessionals who can influence prescribing decisions? Setting sales quotas and goals before the start of the year. Preparing budgets andfinancial forecasts to help managers make strategic decisions. Also preparing yearlypromotional plan to increase customer awareness of our brand.? Making data-informed decisions to drive performance and resource allocation? Establishing goals for individual sales representatives to increase product awarenessand promote brand loyalty among existing customers? Making regular calls to existing clients to ensure they are satisfied with the product orservice they are receiving? Developing, creating and maintaining relationships with customers, includingproviding post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction as the same time developstrong relationships with key customers and accounts? Developing and implementing sales strategies to increase sales and profits? Maintaining relationships with doctors to ensure that products are available whenneeded? Developing and implementing company sales policies and procedures related tocustomer service, business ethics, and safety? Developing and implementing training programs to help employees improve theirskills? Achieve and exceed sales targets by developing and executing effective strategies? Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales professionals to peak performance? Monitor Daily Activities of medical sales representative and making spot checkingtime to time to audit attendance, job performance and territory knowledge of themedical sales representative.? Weekly checking of Daily Coverage Report (DCR) of medical sales representative? Weekly meeting with medical sales representative to discuss pending deliveries andoutstanding accounts under that representative territory.? Weekly meeting with clinical trainor's to review outcome of training done in theclinics and discuss outcome/potential sales from demonstrations done along withmedical sales representative.? Responsible in following up for sales outcome of demonstrations with medical salesrepresentative.? Heading monthly meeting for sales review and following month planned coveragewith medical sales representative.? Responsible for the first step in approving demonstrations and new closed sales ofmedical sales representatives.? Create and deliver engaging sales presentations to prospective clients? Assist or help negotiate contracts and close deals with medical sales representative? Prepare reports for upper management detailing sales results and pipeline activity? Tracking and analyzing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics? Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service? Overseeing and directing performance of the sales team? Responsible in checking authenticity of new client in terms of purchasing capabilityprior approval for orders and deliveries. That customer profiling is properly done.? Identifying emerging markets to find new sales opportunities? Manage expenses within budget? Implement and regularly remind medical sales representative of all company policiesand procedures? Responsible in issuing memorandums to medical sales representative in case of anycompany violations and then reporting to Human Resources and Management.? Will be responsible for territories without medical sales representative (promote, selland cover doctors, hospitals, clinic owners and purchasing department)? Adhere to all company policies and procedures? Perform other duties as assignedSales Manager SkillsSales Manager need the following skills in order to be successful:? Communication skills: Communication skills are essential for sales managers, asthey are responsible for communicating with clients, colleagues and otherstakeholders. As a pharmaceutical sales manager, you may be responsible forcommunicating with clients to explain the benefits of a product, as well as the risks ofnot using it. You may also be responsible for communicating with colleagues todiscuss sales goals and strategies.? Product knowledge: Pharmaceutical sales managers should have extensiveknowledge of the pharmaceutical products they represent. They should be able toexplain the benefits of each product and how it can help patients. This can help themeducate their sales teams and encourage them to sell more of the product.? Leadership skills: Leadership skills can help you motivate and direct your team toachieve goals. You can use your leadership skills to help your team develop strategiesto meet sales quotas, improve customer service and increase productivity. Leadershipskills can also help you delegate tasks and motivate your team to complete them.? Problem-solving skills: As a pharmaceutical sales manager, you may be responsiblefor managing a team of sales representatives. This means you may be responsible forproviding guidance and direction to your team. Being able to solve problems is animportant skill for a pharmaceutical sales manager. It can help you provide guidanceto your team members and help them overcome challenges in their sales process.? Decision-making skills: As a pharmaceutical sales manager, you make manydecisions throughout the day, including which pharmaceuticals to promote, whichclients to visit and how to manage your team.
