Safety Officer
Job Description:
? Serves as Secretary of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Committee. His/Her functions are:
Prepare minutes of the meeting;Report status of recommendations made;Notify members of the meetings; andSubmit to the employer a report of the activities of the committee, including recommendations made; Ensures the compliance to all safety legal/mandatory requirements.Conducts accident/incident investigation and verify the effectiveness of the provided actions.Coordinates all the EHS Training Programs for all the employees.Spearheads the implementation of hazard identification, risk assessment and control (HIRAC).Conducts EHS inspection to ensure the compliance and implementation of health and safety programs and operational controls.Maintains the accident/incident recording system and coordinate action taken to eliminate root causes.Facilitates the regular General EHS meeting.Issue Work Stoppage Order (WSO) when necessary, based on the requirements and procedures provided by the OSH standards.Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the department. ? REQUIRED COMPETENCIES LeadershipBasic Occupational Health and SafetyRisk Assessment (EAI/HIRAC) and ManagementIncident Investigation and Prevention Job Requirements: Minimum requirement Bachelor's/ College DegreePreferably at least two (2) years' experience or practice as safety officerUndergone 40-hours Basic Occupational & Safety Health (BOSH) training DOLE accredited training by DOLE accredited training organizationIn depth knowledge of Safety Legal requirements and proceduresOral and written communication skillsOrganizational skillsInvestigation, data analysis and reporting statisticsEmergency situation managementComputer literate
