Job Overview: The Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols on construction sites. This role involves promoting a culture of safety, conducting training sessions, and performing regular inspections to minimize risks and prevent accidents. This position is also responsible for managing company documents such as SOPs, technical drawings, instruction manuals, and control logbooks.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure that all safety regulations and standards are met on-site. Monitor adherence to health and safety policies and procedures. Conduct safety training sessions for all staff and subcontractors. Develop and implement safety programs to promote awareness and compliance. Perform regular inspections of the construction site to identify hazards and unsafe practices. Prepare detailed reports of findings and recommend corrective actions. Investigate accidents and near misses, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures. Maintain records of incidents and safety violations. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct drills and training to ensure staff are prepared for emergencies. Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related concerns on-site. Foster a culture of open communication regarding safety issues and practices. Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Stay updated on changes in safety legislation and industry best practices. Prepare and submit regular safety reports to management. Track safety performance metrics and implement improvement strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or related field (preferred). Proven experience in safety management within the construction industry. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is a plus. Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in safety management software and tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
