Regulatory Relations Manager

The Regulatory Relations Manager is primarily tasked to manage relations with relevant regulatory agencies, particularly the ERC, DOE, NEA, PSALM, NGCP, NEA, IEMOP, PEMC, among others, to facilitate the issuance or approval of related permits and agreements. He/She is also expected to address customer concerns, and provide insight/guidance on upcoming or existing relevant energy policy.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Regulatory and Customer Affairs Liases with regulatory agencies, consultants, and customers; Monitors public hearing schedules including public bidding conference, CSP announcements; Updates rate applications, status before the ERC, Operating Contracts before the DOE, and similar applications; Provides regulatory sounding of common issues with other generators, customers, or regulators; Studies CSP rules, government bidding and procurement of energy, and providing guidance to ensure completed eligibility requirements; Drafts and/or reviews reply letters to customer queries and concerns; Drafts and/or reviews initiatory letters, announcements, and proposals to customers and to regulatory agencies arising from management instructions; Coordinates with regulatory consultants, counsels and customers for EPPA, PSA and Operating Contract;Support for Office of the President & CEO - provide support to the President and CEO on direct instructions such as, regulatory research, and queries; Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Regulatory Affairs, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications may be preferred.5 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, government relations, public affairs, or a related field, depending on the complexity of the role.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, policies, and procedures relevant to the industry or sector in which the organization operates.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal teams.Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex regulations, laws, and guidelines to ensure organizational compliance.Proven track record of successfully managing regulatory relationships, including establishing and maintaining positive relationships with regulatory authorities.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify regulatory risks and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate them.Leadership qualities with the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to address regulatory issues and achieve compliance goals.Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems used for regulatory compliance management and reporting.
