This role encompasses comprehensive patient assessments, administering dialysis therapies, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring high-quality patient care in a specialized environment.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough pre-treatment assessments to evaluate patients' medical history and health status.Identify and address patients' physical, emotional, and social needs, providing holistic care.Operate and monitor hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis machines to ensure safe and effective treatment.Initiate dialysis treatments, including venipuncture for catheter insertion, and provide ongoing monitoring during sessions.Continuously monitor vital signs and laboratory results, adjusting treatment protocols as necessary.Recognize and respond to any complications during dialysis, including hypotension, cramping, or allergic reactions.Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, treatment options, dietary restrictions, medication management, and self-care techniques.Provide resources and support to facilitate compliance with treatment plans.Collaborate effectively with nephrologists, nutritionists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to design and implement individualized care plans.Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.Maintain accurate and thorough patient care documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols to protect both patients and staff.Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies to stabilize patients and provide appropriate interventions in accordance with hospital protocols.Attend regular meetings and other hospital activities.Job QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.A valid PRC Registered Nurse (RN) license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification is highly desirable.Previous experience in nephrology nursing or dialysis settings is preferred.
